ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Introduction
We are a family run guesthouse offering seven ensuite rooms. We offer bed, breakfast & evening meals or just bed & breakfast if you wish. We do not have any ground floor rooms or any stair lifts.
Pre-Arrival

• Public Transport - The number 30 bus run on the hour which opperates
from Barnstaple - Combe Martin - Ilfracombe, from Monday to Saturday and there
is a Sunday service which can change from time to time, please ask the proprietors
for details. the nearest train station is Barnstaple. The next nearest town
is Ilfracombe. Combe Martin offers tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, car parks
with disability spaces and public toilets.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• The entrance to the car park leading upto saffron house is from
the main road (king street), it's a bit steep but levels out at the top. we
do have parking for 7 cars 4/5 on flat area up top or 3/4 on lower area.
Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area
• From the car park there is a short path leading to six steps with
railings upto the porch entrance, step inside towards an inner door once through
you are in the hallway with reception desk at the end.
Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc
• From the inner door into the hallway to your left there is the bar
lounge, as you walk down the hallway to the reception desk the entrance to
the dining room is on your right. opposite is the public telephone and reception
bell. From the inner door again you will see to your left a flight of stairs
leading to the first floor landing, which has 14 steps. at the top of the
1st flight from here you see the next flight of stairs leading upto the 2nd
floor landing.
Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc
• The bar/lounge is to your left as you enter, there are sofa's placed
around a coffee table and a television for guest to use.
• Also there is a licenced bar, a sun lounge ajoins the bar which also
has chairs and tables for guest's to use.
• In the sun lounge you will found a door and four steps leading
down to the outdoor swimming pool.
Public WCs
• The only w.c. we have available for public use is on the first floor
landing up one flight of stairs.
Leisure Facilities
• There is an outdoor swimming pool available for guests, the measurements
are; 20ft by 10ft and 4 ft deep end, 2.5 ft
• shallow end.
Additional Information
• There are evacuation notices in all bedrooms and public areas. which
are on the sound of the alarm (a continuously ringing bell) leave the building
via the nearest available escape route and assemble in the car park. All escape
routes are clearly marked, all rooms and public areas have smoke detectors,
and throughout the hallway and landings there are fire alarm callpoints. we
are a non smoking establishment, we do accept dogs but not in the dinning
room.
Future Plans
• Improvements are planned for the driveway leading upto the property.
